Common senior changes that need veterinary medical attention:

  • slowing down
  • changes in appetite or weight
  • drinking & urinating a lot
  • urinary or fecal accidents
  • exercise intolerance
  • new cough or respiratory changes
  • changes in vision or hearing
  • change in behaviour or vocalization
  • new or changing lumps & bumps
  • arthritic changes (see below)

 Signs your pet may be living with osteoarthritis:

  • reluctance, hesitation or difficulty jumping
  • slow to rise, reluctant to rise & greet
  • limping after exercise or activity
  • difficulty with stairs
  • slow or lagging behind on walks
