Sometimes your veterinarian may recommend referral to a specialist. The referral process starts with a complete physical examination and may require blood work and/or x-rays – all of which we would gladly do on site prior to your pet’s specialist appointment. Most specialist referrals will require travel to their facility or referral centre (orthopedics, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology) while other specialty services – like endoscopy and sonography – come to us!
Other services you may need a referral for include behaviour consultation and radioiodine therapy to treat hyperthyroidism. Our knowledgeable team would be happy to answer any questions you might have about referral services.
